Tips for Self Care

With the modern world now everyone is always in a rush, and some people forget to give themselves a break and rest. It is vital for people to take some time just for themselves. Even if you have a busy schedule you can still take a few moment for yourself, it doesn’t matter where you are, whether your at work, school, home or out and about.

Exercise – If your sat at a desk whether at work/school or at home try some chair exercise. Stretch your arms and legs as far as you can, look left and right and up and down. For your eyes try focusing on something long distance away this will help avoid straining. Rotate your ankles and wrists, span your hands out to stretch your fingers. You will be surprised to how you feel after. This is something you could do once or twice a day to help relieve tension in your body.

Take some you time – Try to set aside some time just for you, it doesn’t have to be any particular time just when it is ok for you. Having a break where you can relax and let the worries of day to day living pass you by.

Having a relaxing bath – Buy some bath salts or bath bombs, put them into your bath as you are running the water. Allow yourself some time just for relaxing, to soak in the bath and let the aromas surround you.

Comfort time – This is can be anything comforting, you could visit a friend, talk over the phone, curl up with a duvet and teddy bear, bake some bread so your home smells good, light some candles and watch them flicker. Eat some comfort food.

Escape reality – This is a really good idea when you just want to escape for a little while. Read a book or watch a film, play a game, read magazines.

Get back to nature – take a walk in the forest/woods, allowing yourself to notice the surroundings and nature the peacefulness.
